Autographed Portraits

Beginning in the mid-80s, when I worked for a major newspaper, I found we could get anyone’s address and usually phone number. So I began sending out illustrations I had done to the subject to see if they would sign them. They nearly always did! It started with aviators and then went to Hollywood celebrities and baseball heroes from my youth. About the same time, baseball card shows became common in Southern California where older Hall of Famers would sign. So most of those were signed in person. It later grew to musicians and even one Pulitzer-prize winning author. The collection eventually totaled nearly 500 pieces! Most of these people have passed on since they signed for me.

I understand that there are a lot of fake signatures out there and authentication is possible. However, due to the expense to do all of these, I will not do that. If you are not comfortable with my word being good, you should not buy these. However, if you would like to authenticate it yourself and find through doing so that it is not authentic, I will refund all of your money on the return of the piece.

Please feel free to call on any piece of which you are interested and I can tell you how I obtained it and any story that goes with it.
